The project brings together musicians, scholars and heritage professionals from Glasgow, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide to explore the wealth of Scottish-Australian music now housed at Sydney Living Museums. Vocal and instrumental repertoire will be performed on period instruments and accompanied by insightful and entertaining anecdotes about the pieces and their composers.
The project involves musicological research, recording and touring, and is a collaboration between Evergreen Ensemble, the Universities of Sydney and Glasgow, Sydney Living Museums and the ABC. Evergreen Ensemble gratefully acknowledges the generosity of those private donors who have also given their support.
The program will be recorded for ABC Classics in the Eugene Goossens Studios. Listen out for news of its release later this year! It follows on the heels of another ABC Classics release, One Hundred Days Away, which will be officially launched in November 2019.
